We’re delighted that Isovist were presented the 2018 Supreme Practice at the NZPI’s Annual conference.

The New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) has presented Isovist and New Plymouth District Council with both the 2018 award for Best Practice District/Regional Planning Guidance and also the NZPI’s supreme accolade, the 2018 Supreme Practice Award. The awards are for the New Plymouth Draft Digital District Plan, an online plan developed by Isovist which was refined by input from New Plymouth District Council.

NZPI chief executive David Curtis says the judges drew attention to how the project “displayed innovative and creative excellence in planning and tapped into cutting-edge digital technologies in order to facilitate easier access.”

“The project demonstrates a commitment to emerging technologies and how it can be used to positively impact the way planners and homeowners interact with Council. The project teams’ commitment to finding a relevant and useful solution promotes continued public interest and participation.”

Our approach has always been to collaborate with our council clients to add to, and improve our ePlan platform and we’d therefore would like to take this opportunity to thank all the councils that have collaborated with us to date in developing our eplan product since the company was formed in 2013. However, we’d like to give special thanks to NPDC’s project team (including their appointed consultants) as their input, particularly from a user experience perspective, has helped us re-design IsoPlan to this award winning level by evolving our product into an even more valuable and user friendly tool for Planners, plan users and plan drafters.

The Ministry for the Environments’ National Planning Standards are due to be issued in draft in just 8 weeks time, the Standards will set out details for the electronic delivery and functionality of plans. This award winning eplan platform together with our other products are available to help other councils going forward to meet and exceed the expected eAbility requirements.

Further details on the awards can be found on the NZPI website.
